Inductive Heating

Inductive heating and hardening electrically safe

In the metalworking industry modern induction furnaces are used. By means of coils (inductors) these furnaces induce cyclones inside the metal workpiece to be heated. These furnaces are used, amongst others, for melting, forging and hardening . For the operation of these furnaces, high electrical power is required which is taken from the electricity grid via transformers and special frequency converters (e.g. inverters). The inductors are normally water cooled. This leads to various  potential sources of errors which can disturb or even block production and processing. The solutions have been developed by Bender for monitoring the low insulation level and guarantee fail-safe operation and protection.
