The second Grand Prix of the Formula Student racing season in Silverstone has come to an end. Over 120 student led teams from 20 countries have demonstrated their engineering expertise in the three categories of combustion, electrical vehicle and driverless in the Class 1 and Class 2 reviews. In third place overall in Class 1 was WHZ Racing from Zwickau University, the only German-based team that competed. Bender especially congratulates them for their first place win in the dynamic principles, the actual heart of the competition.
The Italian team MoRe Modena Racing, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia are pleased to have finished ahead of the British Oxford Brookes, who defended their position from last year.
From zero to one-hundred, the HKU Racing team from Hong Kong University swiftly secured second place in the overall standings in Class 2.
All 43 electrical vehicles driven in the competition were equipped with Bender IR155-3203/3204 insulation monitors.
Although Silverstone is over, the race continues in Hockenheim. The next Grand Prix is set to start on August 5 and go until August 11. 118 teams have already signed up.
