The German Chancellor Angela Merkel has meanwhile finished her twelfth visit to China. Bender CEO Markus Schyboll was part of the accompanying business delegation. He considers the visit to be an important milestone for Bender: “As a strategic partner with high-quality products and services for all areas of safe power supply, Bender provides great potential for opportunities to develop the national health system and the industrial infrastructure.”

The last stop on the trip led to the mega-city Wuhan, where the delegation visited the new production facility of automotive supplier Webasto. The production site will become the company’s worldwide largest manufacturing site.

With a sales volume of about 200 billion euros in 2018, China became Germany’s most important trading partner for the third time in a row. 5,200 German companies are based in the P.R.C. plus 600 companies in Hongkong with direct influence on one million jobs in Germany.
